I tried building a tavern to burn through booze faster but I may be in too remote a place for visitors. Maybe too clean given that I am starting to pile up obscene amounts of plump helmets spawns and plants even when I have a pretty small field tended to by a single grower (that is now legendary and is basically making the entire booze engine work by also being the brewer). It's still been interesting to setup work orders so that a bunch of low level tasks are entirely automated, the machine sputtered a couple times (for example once my ash-potash-fertilize chain broke somewhere at a certain point, with the ash step being convinced that there was enough potash around.when I had 0, but I just had to force ash production for a cycle) but the rest has been pretty clean. My current fortress is a bit of a dull place a couple years in, I probably went for too easy a ride as a setup. Thank you so much for an incredible 2022! It was a year of much anticipation and we hope to continue growing the game and the community in 2023 and beyond! Have a safe and restful holiday, maybe teach grandma how to make her first fort and we shall see you in the new year! Made assigning multiple squad positions continue to position 10 instead of stopping at 9 Can advance the game one frame (default key = period) Ability to add/remove all civilians/soldiers from a burrow Made the wild ambience use some randomly spaced howls and giant footsteps. Made outdoor ambiences alternate between being more active and a few neutral wind ambiences. Added a music frequency option in the audio settings (default 3-5 minutes, can be set from 10 minutes to 10 seconds.) Graphics for some picked outdoor plants. Can now swap back and forth from Classic tile mode (in video settings.) Collect 'em all! Or don't!Īlso, as far as we know all of these changes are compatible with your old generated worlds and save files, so no need to start fresh unless you're feeling the itch. Plus now you can collect those silly Steam trading cards! Each one features a different biome and glimpse of some creatures you might find there. Release notes for 50.04 (December 22, 2022)Īlong with the addition of Classic mode, we have updated more graphics, and few more fixes to ambient audio. Well, ideally we'd all be kind to all humans everywhere, but here's a good place to get in some practice. We are so excited to be able to grow the team and can't wait to show you what we have planned! As always, please be kind and considerate to all of the humans associated with Dwarf Fortress, whether you see them on stream, Discord, Twitter, or elsewhere. She will be joining the community team to help with Discord and will be hosting streams on the Kitfox Twitch channel! This is a historic moment, as never before have non-Adams eyes seen the Dwarf Fortress code. That worked sometimes.Įdit: i went and checked, only grazing animals need food to graze on.With the success of the Steam launch, we are now able to bring on some more help for future updates and events.įirstly, Putnam is a very prominent, long-time member of the Dwarf Fortress community and will be helping Toady with programming. I also had a few small empty grazing spots scattered about in case they needed to eat so they wouldn't travel far. I did keep all my war animals in strategic spots to help stop thieves and child snatchers and keep them out of the way in my main fortress. But even my War Elephants needed very small grazing pastures compared to my farm animals, maybe i was imagining that. Not sure if this info is accurate, but its what I feel was true from my hundreds of hours of playing with lots, and i mean LOTS of trained War critters. Thanks! Only my trained grazing animals seemed to need food sometimes, not any of the non grazing types. Originally posted by hivequeen:After I have trained an animal for war and assigned it to a dwarf, should I keep it checked in the pasture list or should I uncheck that box and let it roam? I am not sure which option will let the animal fight with the dwarf.
